Waver is a residential development located on Vostochnaya Street in the southern part of central Yekaterinburg, near Mayakovsky Park. Designed by KPLN Architects in 2025, the project draws inspiration from the area's textile heritage and the history of the Makarov flax-spinning factory, whose historic buildings still remain in the neighborhood. The architecture reflects this industrial legacy through distinctive material choices and facade details. Terracotta accents reference the factory's red-brick buildings, while wave-shaped perforated screens on the balconies evoke the rhythms and textures of weaving. The building's sculptural form features a subtle, bird-like curve that shapes the overall silhouette while serving a practical purpose: it creates more apartments with favorable views and helps maximize natural daylight.
The "Waver" residential quarter, designed by KPLN, has been shortlisted for the all-Russian engineering and architectural award 100+ Awards 2026 in the "Best Architectural Solution – Residential Building or Complex Under Construction" category
