The Tsarskaya Trail Residential Complex won The Archicruise Award 2025 in the Best Residential Project category and was shortlisted for the URBAN Awards 2025 and 100+ AWARDS 2025. KPLN Architects designed this premium residential development for Tavrida Development Group. The complex is located in the settlement of Gaspra, within the Yalta urban district, at the beginning of the famous Tsarskaya Trail, on the grounds of the former Ai-Todor Grand Ducal Estate. The western part of the development features three-storey townhouses whose height is in keeping with the detached houses in the settlement. The eastern part consists primarily of eight-storey apartment buildings and four urban villas, with dimensions reflecting those of the historic buildings on the estate. The facades feature natural light Jurassic limestone and golden perforated metal mesh. Metal alternates with stone, while arches without imposts or archivolts contrast with an orthogonal grid. The arches evoke the bays between columns in temple architecture and the latticework of Eastern mashrabiya screens, while also referencing the architecture of the historic estate buildings at Ai-Todor.
