Rethinking the stylistic language of Stalin-era architecture (Stalinist Empire style) and weaving it together with motifs of the Russian style, the stepped-pyramidal volume, with its strong theme of a rusticated facade, is boldly integrated into the building line. The rustication motif, extremely pronounced at the bottom — as if cutting across the visual field — becomes increasingly less distinct higher up, smoothing out, leveling off, and making the volume ever more weightless.
