The residential and office complex at the former Moscow Electric Lamp Plant (Elektrozavod) is a project by the Moscow-based KPLN Architects for the developer Etalon Group. The bureau designed the architecture of the residential buildings and the office centre on Elektrozavodskaya Street in Moscow, next to the plant's historic buildings. The towers are inspired by the idea of a light source: cylindrical volumes, rounded forms and the glow of many windows evoke the lamps once produced at the plant.
Working with historic context is part of KPLN's own practice. The bureau's office is located in a restored 1892 mansion — the former administrative building of the Alekseevskaya pumping station, a regional cultural heritage site.
