Sergey Nikeshkin, the founder of the Architectural Bureau KPLN, told Vechernya Moskva on the renovation of five-story buildings. According to him, after the announcement of the program a lot of questions immediately arose, and the main one is “what will be built instead of five-story buildings”?
"Ideally, it should be individual projects with good architecture and thoughtful planning, built of high-quality materials. We have a lot of worthy bureaus in Russia which are experienced enough and ready to work on creating a new comfortable urban environment in place of the monotypic buildings of the past era. Architectural contests are needed to determine the concepts suitable for each quarter, so that people can see where they will move. Today, both residents and the city need offers – what blocks will be constructed on the site of the old houses".
